In light of the Coronavirus pandemic and the worldwide shutdown through quarantine, self distancing and self isolation, the ministry has postponed indefinitely our bi-annual outreach programme, Even Women Fish Too holding on Saturday 25 April 2020.
From the onset of the pandemic the ministry has provided palliatives for our members via the Rebirth COVID-19 Intervention Programme, by way of a monetary grants for members to assist in their daily living over the period of lockdown.
Members in Nigeria, Cameroon, United Kingdom and the USA have already been beneficiaries of this programme.
The ministry carried out its monthly feeding programme in March 2020 and is preparing for the April edition.
We have also supported widow groups across Lagos State through cash grants to help them feed their families at this time.
To support and promote the use of face masks by indigenes of Lagos State, we have through various NGO’s the ministry works with, provided funding for free face mask distribution in the state.
Rebirth has assisted in carrying out the fumigation and sanitization of some cluster communities in Lagos State.
The ministry is working with Essential Service Workers and has provided them with funding for personal protective equipment (PPE) kits.
