DAY EIGHT: Prayer Rhythms and Peer Pressure
Daniel 6:12-14
So they went to the King and spoke to him about the Royal decree: “Did you not publish a decree that during the next thirty days anyone who prays to any god or man except you, O King, would be thrown into the lions’ den?”
The King answered, “the decree stands- in accordance with the laws of the Medes and the Persians, which cannot be repealed.”
Then they said to the King, “Daniel, who is one of the exiles from Judah, pays no attention to you, O King, or to the decree you put in writing. He still prays three times a day.” When the King heard this he was greatly distressed, he was determined to rescue Daniel and made every effort until sundown to save him.
- Pray for Christians who find it difficult to practise their faith because of pressure from family, friends or work colleagues who do not understand.
- Pray for all Christians in the local streets to pray more regularly and get into a habit of praying several times a day.
- Pray for GOD to teach all Christians and all who are not yet Christian that prayer works
PRAYER CHALLENGE: Pray for one of your neighbours, for a situation such as unemployment, illness, loneliness. Pray until something changes and keep praying when you don’t get an immediate answer.
Pluck up the courage to tell your neighbour you are praying for them.
