I want to thank Almighty God for his love and favour over my family and myself.
God arose and broke protocol on my behalf!! Glory Hallelujah.
I am to fly back to Nigeria for Christmas after being away for over 2years.
My 3year residency was expiring this month and was up for renewal.
Now what should be a routine process which only required a walk-in appointment to the immigration office and takes all of 1 week for the new residency card to be posted out was now taking 5-6weeks as the process was now online due to covid, there is presently a massive backlog on different immigration applications as all staff are working remotely. There is also a strict rule that you cannot renew before 30days of the expiration of the current residency.
So I waited patiently, at midnight on the day it was exactly 30days I submitted my application, calculating my 5-6weeks and still confident that everything was kosher.
A few weeks after, news started filtering in that the process was taking much longer.
I checked their website and it had been updated to say it was now taking 7-8weeks, and a friend who had submitted hers weeks before, had not heard back.
It quickly became a prayer point.
My husband and I were going back and forth as to whether we should buy flight tickets back home or not, with each passing day the tickets were getting more expensive and seats were few and far between.
The uncertainty was becoming unpleasant, and in faith over 3weeks ago we went ahead and bought the tickets trusting God that he will make a way.

I woke up on Monday the 15th November and on my news feed there was an article that said the Minister of Justice is allowing people who are waiting for their new residency cards and who intend on travelling during the Christmas period to depart from and return to the country with their expired cards.
There was also a travel confirmation notice issued by the department which we are to print as proof of residency.
I was overjoyed!!
God continues to show up for me and my family.
My God has been so faithful, he made a way where there seemed to be no way and granted us the desires of our heart.
Thank you Lord!
